The past two weekends I had the opportunity and honor to work with the AMAZING Mandi Millar, a local professional makeup artist to create hundreds of zombies for Zombies In The Park an event hosted by Mark from Adrenaline X Laser Tag at the Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo. I learned lots of great tricks from her.

Also, unbeknownst to me there was also a super talented photographer present, her name is Cassy and she goes by the business name Capture Portrait Design like her page on facebook to check out more of the images she created and moments she captured during the zombie creation process. I can say enough about the images, she made our work look absolutely breathtakingly gory! You will definiately be hearing more about this talented young lady's work as she grows her business!

THANK YOU....

....to my darling Mandi Millar, you are the glue that holds me together and I can't express how much your help means to me.

....to Mark and Alisha Mayfield owners of Adrenaline X Laser Tag, for the opportunity for us to challenge our creative limits.

....to Cassy of Capture Portrait Design, although I didn't get to meet you. You made our work all worth it when I saw the pictures you took. I can't thank you enough for forever capturing those moments in time.

....and last but not least to ALL the zombie volunteers, without you the event would not have been possible!

This Halloween season Make It Up! Facepainting is collaborating with Mandi Millar for Zombies in the Park hosted by Adrenaline X Laser Tag. We will be bringing to life 25 of the most terrifying realistic zombies you have ever seen.

On October 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th Teams of 4 people will have the opportunity to TRY and beat 5 levels of zombies in the Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo, Iowa. Your team will be prepped, given weapons and a guide. Start practicing your head shots because that is the only way to kill these zombies! Cost to play is only $20 or $35 for an ALL NIGHT PASS....

Zombie Survival Tips

You won't survive, but these tips may buy you some time

- Run away. Zombies are usually slow

- Barricade. Barricade. Barricade.

- If given a choice whether to go upstairs or downstairs, always go upstairs.

- Never walk alone.

- Remember: Sick people do not get better.

- Zombies do not make good pets or servants.

- Beware of the living, long periods of solitude in such a hostile enviroment can send the sainest person crazy & very trigger happy.

The second annual Oktoberfest at Gateway Park in Cedar Falls was a chilly to say the least, but faces did get painted! Battling the cold weather there was still a very good crowd both nights. My hopes are that a fair amount was raised for the Magical Mix Kids organization. Next year we will hope for warmer weather! Thanks again to Thorp Family Fun for helping provide me with blockage from the wind and donating the bouncers to the event. Thank you to 93.5 the Mix for inviting me out for the second year. Lastly, thank you to ALL the people who battled the cold and wind came out to have a great time anyway!! See you all next year!
